Creating mini books

I love anything in miniature, I really do.  Lately I have been playing around with the Sizzix matchbook die, because to me it just *asks* for book pages to be added as an insert.

I used the fabulous DecoArt fluid acrylics on a Gel Press gel plate to make this one:

And here's a few steps along the way. I began with the yellow:

Then I added the Cobalt Teal Hue:

Some Vermillion:

And here's my favourite step ...adding the reds and pinks! This is when the colours really start to pop!
Quinacridone Red:

And finally Quinacridone Magenta:

To create the large white circles I brayered Tinting Base on the Gel Plate, and then placed a stencil on top. That way the print only picks up the circles when  it on top.

Ta-dah!

And then I made a few more ;-)

If any of you are coming along to my class at Art from the Heart preview day (24th June) then have a guess what we'll be making ??!!!

  5. I've just started getting into mini albums. They look so intimidating, but I appreciate the step-by-step process for such a beautiful book!

    1. It is a DecoArt medium to be used alongside the fluid acrylics. It's a bit like a thick white paint and makes the fluid acrylics opaques, and a bit thicker.

  12. Totally out of my comfort zone-but I keep looking at it. I really like it. Bookmarked so I can try some of your techniques.
