Journal play

Working on recycled cardboard in my junk journal has been very liberating. I have completely lost any fear of 'messing up' my journal because it's ONLY cardboard and I feel free to experiment and play. Try it, it's amazing!

This page has been influenced by Sabrina Ward Harrison whose work I totally admire, for its authenticity, honesty and loose, free style.

Although you will notice I am still doodling on my backgrounds ;-)

Bye for now ... off to enjoy this unusual yet brilliant weather we are having in the UK at the moment. Time for a BBQ me thinks!

  2. Thank you for sharing. Nice to know real artists struggle with "making a mess" and wanting everything to look polished.

  5. Looks great Kate. When my Summer School is over second week in August, I am back to playing and can have a go at this. Debbiex

  6. I love how you give yourself permission to just do whatever you want in your journal, I think I need to make one in mine too. I feel I am starting to be too perfect and too ambitious again and not having fun to play...Thank you for reminding me!
    Kind regards - Irma

  8. It's wonderful when you let go play and not worry. Your work shows what great things can happen when you do. You made a journal out of cardboard? Where did you learn that technique I'm intrigued!
