I'm up-to-date!

Well, I'm running a little teensy weensy bit late with my calendar page for July, but now I have it finished and ready-to-go. Life is incredibly hectic at the end of the school year, so I'm very pleased to be at this point even if it is late! Now I just have to get it filled in. After doing these calendar pages for 3 years and 7 months (I started in December!) I have realised that not every month has to be a work of art. It is about the process, and the keeping and preserving of memories.

I made the background with the very gorgeous Dylusions inks in Cut Grass and Lemon Zest. Everything in my neck of the woods is looking very green at the moment due to our unusually good weather recently, so I wanted to create a summery green background. The stamps are by Tim Holtz. They are new to my collection so of course they HAD to be used.

If you are taking part in this ever-growing challenge, don't forget you can link up here, or visit our facebook page here, or Flickr group here.

  3. Hi Kate! First, I need to apologize to you. You left me a sweet comment when you saw that I was published in Art Journaling, and I was so very touched...but I never thanked you. I think about you often and love your work...but when I was published, my mom was hospitalized ( no excuse though, for not thanking you). So, I am sorry, and I thank you for your kindness. It meant so much to me. It still does! And, I really like your grass green summery calendar! i signed up for 21 Secrets this week. So glad I did! i watched your whole video and took notes, and I learned more in that hour than I think I have in years, in anything!! It spoke to my creative soul. I feel so inspired and focused again, after having a stressful dry spell. I sprayed, carved stamps today, and stenciled my little heart out! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Kate! ~ kath. PS You are REALLY good at speaking and teaching. I think it's hard to do on a video camera, but you speak so professionally...smoothly. Wonderful!
