Just another page in my junk journal to share with you today .... I started this page when I was teaching at the mini retreat at de Craftorij last weekend. Often pages that I start when demo-ing don't get finished but this one was calling to me. I got hold of some new paint colours when I was in Holland *YAY!*, and wanted to try them out so a few more layers were added to my background. I also stole found the colour wheel lying around on a table at de Craftorij and as I LOVE colour wheels so much it somehow made it's way onto my page ;-)
The more I play in my art journals the more I understand that it is the process that is important not the finished result. I am finding more and more that I am going with my instincts and making pages that are less 'pretty' but have so much more meaning for me. I have decided that I am happy when making a multi-layered grungy mess :-))
Heeey I recognize that page!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteVery cool! Love the colors...
What a pretty mess. Mess is good.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on that Kate. I love the process of crafting better than the finished item, the process on the way is just so satisfying, gorgeous page and lovely colours. Debbiex
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your multi-layered grungy mess! :D
ReplyDeletelove the addition of the color wheel which displays the colors you used on your fun and fabulous page Kate!
ReplyDeletePS-I'm all ready for July for the calendar challenge :)
I am loving these colourful layered pages you are doing and you rescued that poor colour wheel from certain death in the bin.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately when I pile layers of paint up like that it just looks a mess - more practise needed methinks
Loving the turquoise with that gorgeous shade of green
Fab Page!! Hugs Juls

Love your gorgeous mess.
ReplyDeleteIt may be grunge, but it is very appealing grunge :) I love this emerging style of yours! So glad you're having fun.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours, fully understand the need to satisfy ones crafty soul rather than pretty (although this is still pretty). xx
ReplyDeleteLove this page, love the color wheel that you "found"... And I agree, the process of making a page is very important, you can put you heart and soul into it, even though it might look "messy" or very "busy" as long as you/we like it, it's okay!
