Dreaming again.

Yesterday I spent the day 'messing about' at Art from the Heart playing in my art journal.  Ah! My kind of day :-)   Playing about in an art studio with good friends, eating, drinking and chatting, with no distractions or housework. What's not to like?!

If you are a double-clicker (!) then you will already know that this page is about some strange dreams I have been having recently. When I have disturbing dreams they are always about water, not beautiful blue, clear and calm water, but toxic, flooding water, or a current that I can't fight. I should tell you that in real life I am not afaid of water at all, although the second my children go near water that has tide or a current I am on red alert. Seriously. These dreams leave me feeling on-edge and a little anxious.

I googled dream meanings to find out a bit more and I found out that water in your dreams is associated with your emotions. Did you know that? I didn't. Apparantly I am overwhelmed by my emotions, or I am going through a lot of changes. Hmmmm, I'm not sure about either of those but I guess it's not an exact science.

Here's a few close-ups:

I'll try to show you a more cheery page next time. Promise!

So, how are you all getting on with your art calendars? Are you keeping up to date?! Please check the original post here and make sure that I have added you to the blog roll and that I have linked to you correctly. I tried to keep on top of it but I had a lot of e-mails about this challenge and I am easily confused! Towards the end of january I will blog my January page filled in and my page ready for February. I will add a Mr Linky gadget to that post so that you can add a direct link to your blog when you are ready.

Byeeeeeeeeee for now.

  3. I was a life guard when I was in high school, but the amount of water I've had to deal with after my water pipes broke last week, I'm now hating water. Oh, if only it WERE a dream and I could wake from it (grin). Only time will tell if your dreams are founded or not.

  5. dreams are weird aren't they - they seem to be totally unrelated to anything that takes place during the day. fab pages Kate. I've ordered a few sprays to try (on top of my already large collection lol) and yes I'm keeping up but "we've still to a long way to go" (as quoted by Alice Cooper)

  10. Fab page - and great reading (whatever they mean). The watery background is superb! This week I have had several dreams with Johnny Depp in them. Not sexy or romantic (bah!, not even sure why, but nice all the same.

  12. Awesome page, Kate! Hmmmm . . . if you find the answer to your "water" dreams, then maybe you can point me in the direction to solve my dream imagery! I always dream in vivid color and have horrible nightmares.

My calendar is coming along . . . I've been faithful every day so far and am looking forward to February! Can't wait to see your pages.Hugs, Terri xoxo

  20. Love the colours on this page. I really like the small details that you doodle or draw on, they make such a difference.
My nightmares usually involve water too, but everything I see is from an underwater position!
    Strange!

  21. Beautiful page! I know all about disturbing dreams, I have lived with nightmares pretty much every night for years... Mine are clearly stress related though, this seems a little more complex! Anyway, writing about them is probably the best thing you could be doing so good for you! :) hugs

  24. Don't worry about showing us a cheery page, your art journal is meant to be about you and what you are currently going through right? Be true to your emotions and feelings, no matter what they are. Believe me, your work is always stimulating no matter what! Before I read that you look up dream interpertations I was going to tell you that usually what we dream is completely different than the actual meaning. But you figured it out I see. God I would love to sit down with you for a whole day and play with our mutual art supplies together and learn new techniques from you. Oh......btw, I wanted to ask you, if I wanted to try my hand at the calendar project, do you think it's too late for me to start?
