Well, here it is - this is what we've all been waiting for - the latest edition of Somerset Art Journaling and I'm in it! Woop woop! I am of course, hugely honoured to be in such a magazine :-)
Unfortunately I don't actually have my copy yet which is very frustrating, and I don't even know which pages of mine are published or who else is in the magazine even. Ah well, I've got something to look forward to .....
If you live in the UK you get the magazine here, and believe me, if you love art journaling you NEED this!
Here's a journal page I did in response to a prompt from Roc on this Flickr group here. The prompt was - a colour that makes you happy. I know, I know, some of you don't like the pickled babies but indulge me just this once cos I love 'em :-)

This page turned out a little more grungy and messy than I intended but I was having a lot of fun in the process and that's what it's all about.
Bye for now.

ReplyDeleteGot my eagerly awaited copy today but am being disciplined and reading from back to front - but am looking forward to page 54 when I get to your article. They've used one of the pictures from your blog header - so that was easy to spot whilst having a first flick through the mag. Can't believe they're making you wait for your copy though - you should have priority delivery. Like your page - you make grungy and messy look GOOD. Looking forward to seeing you at your class at AFTH at the end of Jan.

ReplyDeleteYour spread is awesome Kathryn. I had no idea you were in this issue until I figured out that you are Kate as listed as author and reading this post. WAY TO GO!!!! Well I am totally thinking this is awesome cuz I am in this issue too. It's like being in an issue with good friends cuz most of the gals in this issue are artists I adore and follow.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS! You must be in the pink!
ReplyDeleteIt's a long scroll down here to squeeze a comment in! But, baby, I couldn't get down here fast enough to send you a huge CONGRATULATIONS hug! You are taking the world by storm my dear and I am so excited for you. You are so talented and deserving. I will be off to get my issue and I'm sure I'll be gushing to everyone "I know her! I know her!" The only trouble I have now is, you were going to be my last blog visit before bed and now I'm so excited I'm not sleepy anymore!
ReplyDeleteThe journal page in the post below, is my new all time favorite, by the way! YOU ARE SIMPLY AMAZING, KATE! I'd give anything for one ounce of your talent.

Congratulations on being published Kate - so deserved.
ReplyDeleteI did finish my 2010 Calendar and wanted to thank you for that challenge as it kept me going through some difficult times at the end of last year. I so enjoyed the challenge. This year, though, I want to try some new things so won't be taking part, but will continue to enjoy watching what everyone comes up with. It's always inspirational to see how other artists interpret themes.
