Calendar Challenge 2010 / 11
Wow, I'm impressed with myself for keeping up for a whole year LOL!! I started off really well, on time and ready to start each month but as the year went on and as I got a bit busy, I got a little later each month. But I did it!
As a reminder, here is my original post about the challenge. And have a look at Jill's blog here as Jill was the original inspiration for me starting this challenge. (And what's more, Jill is always on time with her calendar pages!!)
This challenge has been fun and I'm so happy that so many of you were able to join in. Don't forget that you can see many of the completed calendar pages here on Flickr. I'm really not sure how many people stayed in the challenge all year - some dropped out along the way but many joined throughout the year so who knows?! Seeing everyone else's calendars has been truly inspirational - so many different styles and so many different ideas ..... thanks to you all for sharing :-)
So now for the big question ...... who is joining in this year?!
All you have to do is complete a calendar page each month and if you like, leave a comment on my blog at the start of each month so that others can visit your blog and take a peek. Don't forget you can also upload to Flickr too.
Newbies welcome! If you are new to this and have any questions, just e-mail me - there is an e-mail button in my sidebar.
Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun and BIG congratulations if you lasted the whole year :-) Looking forward to seeing lots more calendars in the all new 365/2011 calendar challenge.

Jill may have been your inspiration last year, but you are mine this year - I'm up for it! Got January's page already done but cant actually get to my desk to do anymore LOL
ReplyDeleteThis will be a test of my staying power but hopefully this time next year I will have a blogpost similar to this one to share

ReplyDeleteYour Years calenders look fantastic Kate......well done for doing them all, quite a feat of dedication !!
ReplyDeleteFabulous pages, so inspirational Kate. I've managed to keep up, sometimes a little late, and will definitely be joining in again next year. Happy New Year xx
ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun. Would love to have a go. Anesha :)
ReplyDeleteYESSSSSS count me in!!! Just ordered a moleskine:O).
ReplyDeleteWow! Well done on doing the whole year! I'm thinking I may take part next year since it may actually be the only journalling I'll get done for a few months. So yeah, I'm in!
ReplyDeleteI would really like to do this, Im a newbie and remember looking at pages throughout the year.

Do I need another challenge? YES!!! This is a super idea for me, as I keep a loose journal of odd bits that happen - but to do it as art is a new idea for me. I consider it fortuitous that I discovered this just as a new year is about to begin!
ReplyDeleteI would like to join this year, Kate!!! Thanks for the awesome idea, the sharing all last year, and the inspiration. So, which calendar month, that you made in 2010, is YOUR personal favorite? I love all of yours, but if I had to pick (which is often a game I play...) I extra-love January and June! See, I couldn't narrow it down to one. Gosh, I love your calendar pages...
ReplyDeleteYou beat me to it as I am intending to post my 12 months! Well done for keeping it up - I definitely think it is a bit addictive, so I am in for 2011. Let's hope lots of the other calendar makers are in there too!
ReplyDelete(This is my third attempt to post a comment so forgive me if the others turn up)
ReplyDeleteWell done for keeping it up, I find it rather addictive so I am definitely in for next year. Let's hope there are plenty of others ready to take up the challenge.
All the best
Jill x
How fab they are - and its great to find your blog. I loved the article in Craft Stqmper mag and have just made my pages for January 2011. I will post them on my blog in a minute.

ReplyDeleteWell, unfortunately I was one of the 'drop outs', (shame on me)! With so many things going on I had to give in..... Congrats to you and the others out there who managed to complete the challenge. I must say your calendar is inspirational, as is all of your work. Look forward to seeing next years calendar too. Sue x
ReplyDeleteMe me me hey Hun I definitely want to join in the fun your calendar journal looks amazing, best get a start on januarys page can't wait xxx oh yeah also wanted to say thanks for your lovely comment on my holiday pics India was amazing!!! Loved Nepal too I kept an art journal while I was away and wrote in it every day so will upload piccies to my blog soon xxx
ReplyDeleteCount me in again Kate for 2011. I cheeted in Dec & submitted a digi version but it doesn't compensate for the real hands on approch. I liked the smaller version you did for craft stamper so I asked Santa for a smaller journal & I will be doing a weekly page 8x8 (lets see how it pans out!). although I have done a digi Jan page as well.
ReplyDeleteLooking at all your pages together is just amazing. Well done and thanks again for the inspiration Kate.
I am just sooooo impressed by your pages. They look amazing! I am inspired enough to take up the challenge and join you this year. I have a book all ready! :-)
ReplyDeleteThey all look great Katie. Especially love March myself.xxx Hope to join your challenge for 2011 and will upload Jan when done!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't think my hands are up to posting on everyone's blog calendars so please know I love them all!!!

ReplyDeletehttp://luna-luna1.blogspot.com/2010/12/new-challenge-for-2011.html
I have used your tutorial in craft stamper for my first page as I was a little unsure of what to do!
My fav page of yours from 2010 is the November one, I love all the leaves. Really looking forward to this challenge x
This looks like a great idea...your pages are inspirational. Art journaling is waaaaaay out of my comfort zone....but that's probably a good thing....and I'd like to give it a go!
ReplyDeleteI've seen these on various blogs (In particular Sandra's!) and wondered where they originated from! Thanks to Sam up there posting the link I now know :D I'd love to play along with you all this year.
ReplyDeleteI am IN- this is my year of the art journal! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still in and up for another year
ReplyDeleteWell done you! I'm proud of managing one month! It must be great to read back over your year. I've decided I'm just not a writer though, even just one sentence a day was too much for me! I happily write my blog, but somehow, physically writing a diary entry each day was just too much for me. Thinking if there's a way of making it work in 2011 though :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kate! My January 2011 Calendar is up on my Blog!! xo
ReplyDeleteI love your calendar and was following your progress nearly all 2010.
ReplyDeleteThis time I'd like to give it a go, too!
Happy New Year!
Hi Kate.... think I need a lie down.... I've just blogged all my calendar pages for this year HERE.. OMG I did it!! hehe... can't believe it's 12 months ago since I was oooohing over your pages & thinking what a great idea.. I have learnt so much about journaling along the way & would encourage non journalers to give it a go. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate.XXX
Looking forward to joining you again!
Those pages just look fab together Kate. I have blogged mine today. Thanks so much for the challenge, I've loved it and learnt so much so I am definately in for next year too. Normal diaries?? pah - boring give me colour and stamping every time!!

ReplyDeleteHey Kate, just had a thought... will you be creating a button for this? Can't see one for 2010, but would love to have one in my sidebar to link back to you.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year!
Count me in ... all the pics of everyone's finished calendar has convinced me to give it a go. They all look fantastic and I just hope I can keep up the pace. Being a newbie I will email you for some instructions. Thanks Kate for an inspiring blog. Enjoy your new year day.
ReplyDeleteSandra
This is the first time I am reading about this kind of challenge and I am psyched! I'm not sure what size an a-4 moleskin is but I'll just use the one I have and make it work- your pages are great!
ReplyDeleteHi Kate, LOVE your pages, they are fantastic. Having only found you half way through last year, I fully intend to make my 2011 Calendar......looking forward to it. I'll be making my Jan pages this afternoon. Love S x
ReplyDeleteI, sadly, was a drop-out too!! Hi! I found my way here through Susan Stewart's blog - I am very intrigued by this challenge. Please add my name to the list - won't be able to start my January page until next week; but am jotting down snippets for each day! This may actually get me into a daily "journaling" mode!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the BEST THINGS i have seen yet!!! Your work is great Kathryn! What a great challenge, i am going to follow along and play too. Sign me up!!! I look forward to sharing with you in the new year....

Thanks for all you do!
Owh wow, just wow, these are soooo awesome! Totally make me want to do something similar, though I have no idea whether I'll be able to keep up for a year!! Do you journal the blocks every day or sometimes fill them in for a few days in a row looking back in time?
ReplyDeleteThis makes for such an awesome journal to flip through later on!
I'm joining in! :) I jumped ahead and made both january and february though... I was just having too much fun!
ReplyDeleteBit late as normal but I would love to join in again this year.
ReplyDeleteCathx

ReplyDeleteThis is the site that I been looking for a week. I really loved reading your blog. It was very well authored and easy to understand. Unlike additional blogs I have read which are really not good. I also found your posts very interesting.

ReplyDeleteI just found this and I totally want to do this for 2012 with my boys!
