Finally! Here it is is - my September page ready to go for the 2010 365 calendar challenge. Only 4 days late!! If you don't know what I'm talking about have a look at my original post about this here or the Flickr group here.
I got quite stressed out about being late with my page this month and I have to say this is not my greatest work, but at least I can get on with the daily business of filling in a square. I think that maybe this page isn't finished yet- it doesn't 'feel' right but I have a lot of other deadlines to meet in the next couple of weeks so I just need to move on. Perhaps I'll add to it as I go along.
Anyway, who's still in?! Only 4 months left to go now, we're well over half way through. I know that a lot of the 'calendar challengers' want to continue next year? What about you? Are you up for a 2011 365 challenge?! Let me know ....
This month I did quite a bit of doodling:
And who doesn't have days when they feel like this?!
Right, I'm off. Byeeeee for now, enjoy the weekend :-)
Loving your overall orange & yellow theme ! Your doodling is sublime !! Great stuff !!
ReplyDeleteCertainly do have days when I feel like that. Your page looks good even though you say it is not finished.
ReplyDeleteI would like to continue the challenge in 2011 I really enjoy it, I'm not the type to keep a diary so this is good.
Pat xx
Next year I'm in~ enough of this watching!!
ReplyDeleteLove your choice of colours, orange and pink, so indian and as always so vivid. Fancy decorating my house, lol. I love deep colours, vivid colours and anything with an indian or romany feel. And then there's the shabby chic side of me, so many styles so few rooms lol. I think as a teacher you should definately cut yourself some slack in September, it should be enshrined in the rules, lol
ReplyDeleteOh I love your 'September' pages. My very favourite colours. I'll certainly be carrying on into 2011 with my calendar, so I hope you carry on. Love looking at your artwork. S x
ReplyDeleteI love your September page so bright and colourful.......yes, I'm still with you :)
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE this ... I just sat and drank in the gorgeous colours and all the details, especially the doodling. Now I am off to emulate your example and just MAKE something after too many busy days ....
ReplyDeleteDahlias - that's what your colours are. I used to think them too garish but now I love their startling pink, orange and yellow!
ReplyDeleteI plan to join in in Jan, I am kinda glad I felt I was too late to join in this year as its been a pretty rubbish one, don't think I want a reminder. Next year however is full of good prospects so I will be looking for a suitable book to do it in.... any tips on that would be good at next art journaling sunday
ReplyDeleteYour caged man is very evocative, he reminds me of a quote that has stayed with me for a few years now: "“What other dungeon is so dark as one's own heart! What jailer so inexorable as one's self!” from Nathaniel Hawthorne.
ReplyDeleteErrm ... and with that cheery thought ... I'll best be off!
:-)
wonderful brilliant colors, some of my favs!!
ReplyDeleteCheery and bright page with the little squares..love the idea...and the cage...ahhhh who doesn´t feel like that sometimes........great take on it.

Another 365 well go on then I just forget each month how to upload to the flickr group and I have been late posting but it gets there! Septembers work in progress looks good to me but we all like to add a bit here and there. My problem is usually knowing how to stop. Love the drawing lab book just done a page in my journal about cats! See you soon x C
ReplyDeleteI love this! Happy September, Kate! ~Kathy
ReplyDeleteHi again, Kate! Yes, that was a hand carved stamp on the right...my poppy pod! Thank you, Kathy
ReplyDeleteI'm still going - and I might be persuaded to do it again next year . . . . . . mmm we shall see.
ReplyDeleteKate your pages are gorgeous and orangey yum yum! Love the doodling.
:)
September looks great. I've got mine done, but I never post the next month till I've finished it. Looking good. Reminds me I need to go work on mine so I don't get behind!
ReplyDeleteI love that you stuck to something like the calendar challenge ... may start up again next year, I loved it but lost my flow with my house move from the Gold Coast to Sydney in March and just couldn't find the time to catch up ... will definately have another go next year, I love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm still here although straggling in very late this month but anyways. Your post described my month and my struggle with my half done August page really well. I wondered if it was the time of year.
