Oh my goodness, what a fab time I had this weekend at Art From The Heart doing 3 days of workshops with the wonderful Dina Wakley. Dina is such a talented, generous and inspiring person. I learnt so much, that today my head is spinning!
I've got so much to share I'll have to do it over a few days .... so this is part one.
The Dina-esque photo above is the first piece I completed. It's very 'Dina' but it's also got my tell-tale neon colour scheme. Here is my art as a work in progress - you can probably spot the stencil I used in the background of the photo. Dina affectionately calls this one 'Betty'!
At Art from the Heart, Dyan has just released 8 fabulous new shades of Altered Originals spray inks (more about that to come) which we were able to use in our art throughout the weekend. You NEED them! Check them out here.
Here's my second piece of completed art, again with my tell-tale colour scheme:
We were so well looked after at Art from the Heart all weekend, including fabulous meals and drinks and cake! But we also worked really hard. Look!
At the forefront of this photo you can see Julie who I met for the first time. I worked alongside Julie on the first day and it was interesting to see that although we were doing the same course our art was very different. You can also see Dina, just next to Julie.
Anyway, we worked hard but we still found a little time to party :-)
L to R Christine, Jude, Dina, Carter, Paul, and Sarah (my arty buddy who lives just round the corner from me)
It was really wonderful to finally meet Jude who I have known in Blogland for quite a while, and even got to stay in the same guesthouse as her. Here's Jude sharing a joke with Christine. This photo makes me :-)
And here's Jude's lovely OH Paul, who is something of a dab-hand with the cocktail mixer and makes a mean Cosmopolitan :-))) Let's just say we had a couple of entertaining evenings back at the guesthouse!
Ok, that's it for now, but I've got plenty more to share so watch this space!
Byeeeeeeeee for now.
Ah Kate - I love your story of our weekend! I wish I had made my post into episodes but I rushed in because shall be busy for the next couple of weeks and I didn't want the weekend to 'get lost' in the annals of my growing photo files!
