Well, here it is, my journal offering for Valentine's day. I decided to go completely grungy with this page because the image was grungy to start with. I like the way it looks next to the previous page. (And I like the way the butterfly makes the doll look like she has very large bunny ears!) The image came from the wonderful Rian, and the rubber stamp is Tim Holtz.
I have been wrecking my journal a bit more, it's really very therapeutic. Thanks to those of you who let me know that you're going to do it too. let me know how you get on, and have a look here on Flickr too.
My husband got me some flowers on Friday (ahhhh!), not for Valentine's day but for getting through the first half term in my new job without going completely mad LOL! And look, here's my favourite ever colour combo:
And finally have you noticed the nights are getting lighter? Seems to happen all of a sudden. Spring must be on the way - look what I saw yesterday:
Bye for now :-)
Oh My!!! This is incredible! Your pages are amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat journal page. How wonderful to feel loved even if feeling a little 'shabby'! You are not alone. How lovely to see snowdrops appearing.
ReplyDeleteYour Valentine page is beautiful - love it.... and I really like the circle page as well - may give that a try later today... right of to start sorting ski stuff out for DS's trip next week...(pity the 3 girls can't go too...lol..)..xox
ReplyDeleteLOVE these! Don't you just love Rian's and Itkupilli's images? My kind of journalling... now, if only I could do it. I have the unfortunate habit of scribbling ideas in first, then of course trying to add any colour/backgrounds after just doesn't work. So I must get in the habit of having some backgrounds prepped first, duh duh duh! Never one to take my own advice...
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I'm loving your journalling and it just gets better and better. You're in the zone, lady!
Fabulous journal pages. I know how your little lady is feeling! Lovely to see the snowdrops appearing. Have a great week. Gez.xx
ReplyDeleteLove the Valentine's page - may get some more stamps, I have not been a serious stamper - there are so many things to try. Have you got a special Wreck this Journal journal? I have tried a few ideas in the past but my book was too precious for true wrecking.
ReplyDeleteJill

ReplyDeleteKate you thrill me this morning, with your bold creative pages!! I love them and the colors just are fabulous. I not sure what it is about butterflies or anything on the head but always finish off a piece perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe doll is just adorable with the big butterfly, nothing could work better. Outstanding art and such a pleasure to visit your blog. I started my day with you and enjoying it greatly.
Hubby's Valentine flowers so full of love and the snowdrops are so full of spring wishes.
Your question about the Gesso, just a little bit of water mixed in your white Gesso. Then you can see through it still.(your image)You have to play with gesso a bit on a sample scrap paper first to get it right.I hope this helps?
Thank you for visiting my blog, love hearing from you.
You "Rock" Kate, I totally agree with that..
Have the best day, can't wait to see what is next in your so creative out of the box art.
I love it ... Hugs, Laura. xoxo
