This is a first for me - I haven't done nudies before! Couldn't resist this challenge when I saw it posted on a the forum of a trading group I am in. These are approx postcard size, and form a set of 6.
I began with a collaged background, painted it with acrylics and then added borders from various places including Teesha Moore and Cassis creations. The nudes came from here on Etsy. The brief was to use nudes withoug being rude ha ha ha! So I covered up any bits that may cause offence with a butterfly :-) Oh, and the butterflies came from Crafty Individuals (UK).
The funnest part was coming up with the wording. My 9 year old daughter came up with 'it ain't rude to be nude', 'love the skin you're in' is from an advertising slogan I think. 'Too nice for knickers' was a line that jumped out at me from the Sunday newspaper last week. In case you're wondering, it was from an interview with Johnnie Boden (owner of a british clothing company with a reputation of playing safe and aiming at the yummy Mummy market). Turns out Boden don't sell knickers because they are ... too nice for knickers! LOL!
And here are 4 of the set of 6 nudie postcards:
Bye for now
I also like 'all fur coat and no knickers!'

Your non-rudie Nudies are adorable! I love the Teesha Moore style collaging. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWell Kate got my back issue of Craft Stamper today with Part 1 of your masterclass so had to visit my local arty shop. Now got acrylic matt medium (hope that will work - could not see any gel medium) and a large pad of watercolour paper. No excuses now so hopefully will have some time tomorrow to actually make the journal, then make the pages all ready for Part 3 next month.
