Doodling :-)

You know, I'm not really happy on a plane. Sure I'm happy enough to be going on holiday but I'm not happy to be in the air at 30,000 ft completely in the hands of SOMEONE ELSE. So, to keep me sane on the flight I have to doodle, doodle and doodle some more. This took me most of the journey on my recent trip to Spain and got me some funny looks off fellow passengers in the process!
These are two pages that I blogged earlier but finished last week:

And finally, this is a work in progress. I'm doing Nancy's Crowabout Collage Dreams on Paper class and it's pushing me slightly out of my comfort zone, which is good! I created this 'funny person' completely from magazine images. It's the first time I've done this as I usually rely on bought images and collage sheets. And I'm working A4 size here. That's HUGE for me! I'm waiting for the next installment of the class when we'll be doing lettering Nancy style.

  3. Fab pages. The first page is my favourite, love the bright colours and all that texture. The class you're doing sounds great; look forward to seeing the next step in the process. x

  4. Kate, your pages are great - just wondering though about your dream. Falling and drowning usually mean fearing a lack of control in your life. What are you afraid of? You have so much talent at art you need not fear failing at that so perhaps it signifies something connected to your sisters as they were the ones rescuing you.....
and here endeth my amateur psychology lesson!!!
Don't worry - relax, enjoy life and remember to breathe.

  5. Each one of these pages are awesome, Kathryn! Can't believe how you used the time on the plane to journal. Most of the time I close my eyes when I'm flying!!!! Hugs, Terri

  9. Your pages zing out with energy. They are always a pleasure to view. I always think doodling is akin to meditation for blanking all thoughts :)
