Goodies from NY

If you can't get to New York yourself the next best thing is a husband going on a business trip and sneaking in a little visit to The Ink Pad :-)  One day, I WILL go to New York myself! I have obviously been a VERY GOOD GIRL because he brought me home lots of goodies. One of the things was this stamp by Lynne Perrella. I stamped onto some old paper, cut out and mounted onto a background of acrylic paints. If you look closely you may be able to see that I built up the background in layers and stamped some clock faces which can be seen faintly in the background. This image sums up exactly how I feel a lot of the time - my head is always so busy and sometimes I just can't switch off.
Just have a look at this:

That's a lot of rubber! What wouldn't you give to spend half an hour in there? (Half an hour? Who am I kidding! Half a day, more like!) I am sure the staff were intruiged to see an English man in a suit wandering round a stamp shop in NY.
And another journal page I finished a few days ago. This was purely messing about - one of my favourite pastimes :-)

  3. Mum and I went there last year - so many stamps you need more than half an hour just to take it all in! Did you know thought that the woman who runs it is a Brit? I think that she's from Manchester actually! You are a lucky girl - mine wouldn't know where to start in a place like that!

  11. Kate what a lucky lady you are to have a husband who knows what you like and takes your art work seriously. Mine travels all over the world but would never dream of going into such a shop. Of course your pages are fantastic as usual. See you on Sunday maybe.

  12. Kate, this is stunning, I just love it. I agree with everyone else, what a lucky lady you are having a husband who takes your work seriously. My son-in-law works in New York every third week of the month, dilemma - do I ask him to go to the shop or not?? Thanks for all the inspiration you give us. xx

  13. Obviously, I am embarrassingly behind on blog visiting so I knew when I finally got through the alphabetical list of my favorite blogs to yours I would want to be here a long time. Kathryn, I cannot tell you how beautiful I think your work is. It should be no surprise that anyone (including the Mum at your school) would be inspired by you. I just flat out feel my head spin and my heart soar when I see all of your work. Before the day is out, I'm going to visit your flickr and soak it all in and then I am going to see if I can order copies of the magazines you're in so I can learn how you do what you. I think I am your biggest fat despite my lacking "stalking" abilities of late.

The guinea pigs are adorable and your crafting area looks alot like mine. Maybe we can publish our own book of less than perfect creating places!

  14. oops. meant to say your biggest fan not biggest fat - though I am feeling like a big fat fan at the moment.

  15. I don't know about you but looking at all those rubber stamps I almost get a rush coarsing through my body. I just want to jump into that store. Have you ever been to the website www.addictedto rubberstamps.com? They have more stamps on any one on-line store than I've ver seen. I have that stamp your husband brought home for you also. I love it too.
I really like your journal page and your style. I remember seeing your Christmas projects in that issue of Craft Stamper, beautiful!! I'm very excited because in the December issue of Craft Stamper I will be the Featured Guest Artist. Very exciting for me. I'm glad I found your blog through Marsha's blog. I added you to my favs.

  17. What an impressive hubby! Mine wouldn't mind going to the shop, but wouldn't be able to choose me stamps as he'd worry to much they'd be wrong, bless him.
My poor camper van is suffering from poorly brakes so won't be up to visit you anytime soon but I'm not working full time at the minute and thought it would be nice to meet up anyway, let me know!!
Great journal page, love those colours :)
