Back from the Big Rubber Stamping Show at Alexandra Palace and a good time was had by all. I even managed to stay within my budget! Really! I managed to sneak a new set of stamps into my shopping bag - the image behind the girl's head, from a set by Dark Room Door. Love it! I think you'll be seeing more of this stamp. I almost didn't get it - I had one of those shall I/shan't I moments, wondering if I could justify yet ANOTHER set of rubber stamps in my collection. But then I thought what the heck! You don't travel all the way from North Yorkshire to London without treating yourself............
For the rest of this ATC I collaged and painted the background, adding a few splats as I went along and then added an image from another French fleamarket find, a vintage postcard. I cut the girl's head off and then re-joined it at an angle. A few extra bits and bobs as I went along and then the quote 'poor little rich girl'. A bit of stitching and then a bit of beeswax. A butterfly image from Crafty Individuals and a little crow image in the bottom left corner from Paperstreet.
Tomorrow I HAVE TO GO BACK TO WORK------groan----- It's not that I don't like my job but I could get used to having all this time at home. Ah well, all good things must come to an end.
Byeeeeeeee for now.

I think I lost my comment somehow. Maybe it will double up - sorry about that. I was trying to say that I'm proud of you for staying in budget as I don't think I could have accomplished that feat! You have lots of discipline! And, this piece is another beautiful work with so many perfect details!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work. love this one and adding myself to follow you as saw your other beautiful art too

Budget, smudget! Life is short....buy what you like :o) You can NEVER have enough rubber stamps. Remember...variety is the spice of life!
ReplyDeleteYou've been knocking out some great cards, as always. I just love your style. You're a great source of inspiration :o)
Great details in this card. Very clever to reposition her head . . . gives her such an inquisitve look. Awesome stamp !! Your collection must be fantastic.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your time off. Won't be long before summer is here and you have more "messing about" time !!
:-)

You did good staying within budget, I've stopped going to the shows 'cause I can't say NO. Love your card, the stamp is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the 'removed and re-set head' on this card! Yup, it's a great one! Very cool. Good job sticking to a budget - the only way for me to do that is to just simply stay away from anywhere that spending might occur :-)
ReplyDeletehugs!
