40 Days Till Christmas!

ATC Noel, originally uploaded by thekathrynwheel.

Yes, here it is, my first Christmas ATC. I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet but I've managed to find time to squeeze a little 'art' time in. Well, one has to get one's priorities right LOL!

I'm still a bit stuck on pink and orange - I think it's a reaction to the perpetual greyness of the English skies. I painted the background on canvas with my usual acrylics and added the image from Lisa's Altered Arts. The backing stamp is Paper Artsy. To make the crown/party hat I painted on a scrap of old text, cut it out and triple embossed it to make it look like shiny. For the 'noel' I used the faux metal technique. I embossed a piece of card 4 times and then stamped into it using my magnetic letters from 'Making Memories' .

Talking of magnetic letters.............I was so excited when I first got these as I would be able to stamp any word I wanted. I carefully placed all my letters on the stamp and stamped on my card........'haqqy dirthday' ha ha ha ha. Of course you have to think in reverse when using letter stamps and my female brain can't cope with that (especially when I'm driving but that's another story).

Tomorrow I'm going to Art From the Heart to do my Art Journal class with Dyan. Can't wait. Watch this space and I'll let you know how I get on.

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

  1. Beautiful ATC !! Love the colors and all the embellishments. I thought the "noel" was a purchased metal bit. Good job.

  3. I love your Christmas ATC with a difference ... I also adore the colours and don't know how you cope with all the grey in the UK - it's summer here and I love watching nature at work. Keep up the great art, I'd be honoured to receive a Christmas Card like this one.
