Ranger Designer Challenge

Being asked to participate in the Ranger Designer Challenge for Creativation (formerly CHA) is such a very big honour and one that I was delighted to participate in. Several artists/designers are sent a box of fab new goodies from Ranger, and this year it was the *new* Dylusions range :-) We were all given a top hat and asked to decorate it using the goodies we had been sent, including one of the new printing plates manufactured by Gel Press for Ranger.

I so much enjoyed making my mini wrap-around journal (see *here*) that I decided to make a bigger version to wrap around the hat. I then set about decorating it with Dyan's quirky new Dy-cuts, and gorgeous Dylusions paints.

Although I have participated in the ranger Designer Challenge a number of times now this was the first year that I actually got to see the projects out on display at Creativation, and oohhhhhh the display looked amaaaazing!

It was fabulous to have my work displayed alongside so many talented peeps, including some of my teaching buddies from Art from the Heart, as well as my lovely buddy Kaz Hall. So many of my on-line friends in art represented too :-)

Some of the hats were upside down, some had cut outs ... such imagination.

A huge thank you to Dyan and Ranger for asking me to play along :-)

  1. The Designer Challenge this year was almost 'tailor' made for you Kate (and I was so thrilled to see the makes in real life too!). The colours and the clever design you used were incredible on your hat, you made wonderful use of Dyan's products! Anne xx

  2. Your hat is full of so much yummy detail, it looks like a story book hat, so clever and totally unique I love it!

P.s thanks so much for the mention xx mwah

  3. Wow Kate - your Top Hat is so unique with it's wrap around journal - so creative. Love all the color patterns, the sewing, and the FANTASTIC FUN it portrays. So whimsical and special! Xj.
