Happy Halloween!

Sing me a song by me!

Happy Halloween everyone! The excitement is building here ... my two teenage children are very much looking forward to the spooky festivities. Halloween is growing in popularity every year in the UK, it's now quite a big celebration. (When I was younger I used to dress up in a bin bag and pretend to be a witch!)

This page is really a variation of my last page (see post here), but I so enjoyed doing it I wanted to try a different version. I love mix and matching stamps, and Stampotique are perfect for this technique! There is something ever so slightly sinister about my 'sing me a song' body when mixed with the skeleton head!

Happy Halloween everyone! Have a great weekend!

Stampotique Designers' Challenge

Hunk by Daniel Torrente
Journey Collage by Amy Wilson Wellenstein
Design Cube 2  by France Papillon

Well, it's my last time as a guest designer for the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog. I've had a lot of fun along the way but now it's time for someone else to have a turn .....

But what a great challenge to finish with! This time we were challenged to make something scary, confused, creepy or just plain ol' weird. In other words, this challenge was right up my alley!

'Hunk' by Daniel Torrente, has the most amazing large head, which is perfect for spilling open to allow strange things to escape, and I used the is little creature form the Halloween cube to show a little monster emerging from Hunk's head LOL!

Well, all good things must come to an end. Thanks for having me as a guest Designer Stampotique - it's been a blast!

Stampotique Designers Challenge

Abstract Foliage, Sentiment by Jo Capper Sandon
Journey Collage by Amy Wilson Wellenstein
Design Cube 2, Rusted Rivets by France Papillon

This week on the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog, it's a colour challenge, and we've all been challenged to use brown and blue in our Stampotique creations. I don't mind admitting I found this a little tricky. Brown? BROWN? I don't usually DO brown. However, when used alongside blue I think it's actually OK :-)

I used Distress Inks in Sailboat and Walnut Stain to create my background, with lots of extra texture stamping in the same colours.

I used my Ruff stamp as the main image, painted in Sailboat and Walnut Stain:

I added some touches of metallic gold and a bit of Stickles for extra bling:

And teamed the image with one of my favourite quotes by Jo Capper Sandon:

Stampotique Designers' Challenge

It's the Stampotique Designers' Challenge time again! This time we are being challenged with the theme of 'birds and bees'. I took this to mean THE birds and the bees ;-) A bit cheeky I know! But it makes me laugh!

I started out with this very messy grungy looking background in my art journal:

I added lots of texture stamping in the background and built up multiple layers.

I stamped the quote with my type-writer:

And then, in a nod to the original theme, I added lots of small bees:

If you want to join in on this fun challenge, visit the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog here for all the details.

I was over-the-moon happy to be asked to be a guest designer on the DT for Stampotique Originals this month. Yay! The Stampotique DT has always been of the highest standard - they are a super talented bunch of artists and I'm delighted to be a part of it during the month of October.

This week Coby has challenged us to make a tag, so here is my tag featuring Frock the bunny :-)
