I'm not sure why, but I have completed the very last page in my journal .... before I have finished the other pages that is! I rarely work through a journal in a consistent way, I tend to hop about and complete a page as it takes my fancy.
This page is on thick recycled corrugated cardboard. I just LOVE painting on cardboard :-) And the great thing about that, is that it is in plentiful supply.
I added lots of doodling along the way, and then cam across a lovely quote in my vintage quotes book 'and they all lived happily ever after'. Perfect for the last page in a journal don't you think?
The head of of the image was one of the faces I doodled in my Art Doodle Love book a while ago, and I scanned them for use in future journal pages.
I'm loving the way the pages in this journal overlap, and open to reveal just a bit of the page underneath:
So, now I just have to work backwards and fill the rest of the pages in, One day I might even get round to doing the first page LOL!
Oh wow, love love LOVE these pages! Gorgeous colours and so much going on. Hugs Frea

You have definitely found the perfect quote. I love the detailed layering in the background.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!!! Did you put this journal together yourself and if so what did you use? I have been following you a little while now and guess what I discovered? I have one of your DVDs -- Art Journaling right from a blank page!! I love it and am learning and yes I am kind of copying your backgrounds - a great way to learn in the beginning. I really love following you ----

Hi Sandy, yes, I put the journal together myself. I used quite a bit of recyclable stuff - cereal boxes, corrugated card etc, as well as a few large tags, and scans of my previous journal backgrounds. You can see more about it in some of my previous posts. Kate x
Deleteoh that is the perfect quote for your fabulous page! Great idea too to make scanned copies of your faces to reuse. I used to work my pages in order but the last few I just open it to wherever I feel like.
ReplyDeleteLove your last page Kate ;) Dxx
