Ooh la la!!

Couture Collection - Night at the Opera - by Dylusions

I had fun playing with the Couture Collection by Dylusions the other day. I stamped the figure onto good quality paper, and then coloured with Distress Inks. I used Picked Raspberry (although for ages I thought it was called Pickled raspberry LOL!), and than added some shading with Aged Mahoganay and Vintage Photo. I doodled some white polka dots on the dress with a white Signo Uniball pen.

Background stamp: Papillon by Tim Holtz

I created the background using the Tim Holtz wrinkle-free Distress techniques and stamped the background with Distress Stain.

I don't often make neat and clean cards these days, and when I do I usually spoil it and get a fingerprint on it or something! But sometimes occasion calls for a card, so here it is!

Yesterday I taught a fun and messy Dylusions class at Art from the Heart. We had a go at a journal page like this:

And a tag like this:

It was a quiet and chilled-out day because everyone was concentrating on either cutting out or colouring in LOL!!

Here they are hard at work:

And a here's a few gorgeously colourful and fun tags that they made:

Before you go, you might want to take a peek at a quick video I made of my Junk Journal:

Right, I'm off to do a spot of housework (Bleurgh!) Not sure why I'm bothering ... it's the weekend so it will only get messed up again. Maybe I should paint instead ?? ...... Byeeeee!

    1. Hi Jacqueline,
I made my junk journal from scratch using old cereal boxes, recycled packaging, corrugated cardboard etc. I bound it together with my bind-it-all. I added any old junk inside - clothing tags, envelopes .... ! Great fun :-)

  25. I just found your blog and love the dresses! Did you cut them out and lay them over the backgrounds? I can't figure out how you did it. If they are cut, you are a scissor goddess as I can see no edges.

  26. I just found your blog and admire your work. For the dresses, did you stamp and cut from a different piece of paper? I don't see any edge lines but can't figure any other way to keep the backgrounds out of the dresses.

    1. Hi Lisa, Yes, I stamped the dresses on a piece of paper and cut them out before adding to my background, But I am not a scissor Goddess LOL! I either cut out and then colour, taking the ink over the edge of the shape, OR cut out and then sponge ink around the edge to lose the white edge. Hope that helps. Kate x
