Weekend catch up!

Whew! What a weekend! I have just returned from a 400 mile round trip to the wonderful The Stamp Attic in Oxford to teach two days of inky painty messy art journaling fun :-) It is always fabulous to be met with such enthusiasm, and even better when 'newbies' and usually neat and clean scrapbookers, are prepared to jump right into mixed-media!
We played with paints, pastels, stencils, and Dylusions inks .....we doodled and drew, and collaged and stamped......

Here are a few photos of the weekend in progress:
Day 1:

Alexa drying off her Dylusions background.

Steph and Annette playing with Dylusions.

Sue playing with inks (watched over by Sarah!)

Steph stencilling a gorgeous background.

Day 2:

Steph creating a juicy mixed-media background.

Tracy and Jan playing with paint and stamps.

Finger painting ;-)

Tracy stepped right out of her comfort zone this weekend  ... !

I am always amazed at the quality and quantity of art that can be created in a weekend, and even after step-by-step instruction, everyone takes things off in their own direction and adds a wonderful personal touch:

It was such a wonderful weekend, and as usual I am in awe of everyone's creations. Thanks to everyone who came along, and a huge thanks to Wendy and Mr.StampAttic for making me so welcome :-)

  10. I was amazed at all the different results we came up with. We were taught the basics & then went on with the freedom to 'experiment' & it proved to be a great success! Thanks Kate, hope to do another class with you soon.

  14. After reading the comments on DVDs 3 and 4, I decided that instead of the 21 secrets, which I know is a fantastic bargain, I wanted the DVDs to watch on my TV. I love your use of color and am looking forward to learning how you create such beautiful artwork. the lades at your workshop were very fortunate to have you for their teacher.

  16. I love how messy their stations became. You just can't do mixed media without getting messy. Looks like great work.
