Mini journaling

Inks by Dylusions

Just a mini blog post to share some mini journal pages!

I have been wanting to carve my own stamps for ages but somehow I never got round to it, but finally I did it! I started with a bunny 'cos I just like bunnies! You can see from this that my first attempt at carving wasn't perfect, far from it LOL! But it's ok, I like imperfection ;-)

And just another very quick page....

Ranger colorwash over text/gesso. Stamps by Tim Holtz.

And here's how the pages look together:

Byee for now .....

I have just made a little project following your idea in this months Craft Stamper magazine. Really enjoyed doing it, never used my Perfect Pearls before and have three shades, loved it, thanks for the inspiration.

  11. That's brilliant Kate, well done, it looks great, how did you find some blank rubber to carve? I'd love to have a go at that. You know what I really love about your first page (Everything!) but especially that little strike of colour from the 3 red strips, it's just genius and it puts a great big smile on my face, to see the contrast. I love the lovely bright circle on the second page too. That's one of my fav flourish stamps. Very inspiring Kate, I love it lots. Michelle x

  19. I love the bunny. Slight imperfections (I don't even like to use that word) are what make hand carved stamps so great. I was moved to carve a chick yesterday! http://jessicasporn.blogspot.com/2012/10/dont-just-dream-it-do-it.html

  22. Your bunny is sooooooo cute!! And the imperfections really add to his character!

Fab pages, nice contrasting colours. And I love the painty-Splatty female symbol on the second page - was it an intentional choice?

Can I ask where you bought your rubber and carving tools?

    1. Hi Charli, I actually bought my tools from de craftorij when I was in Holland recently but they are available on Amazon as a kit:

      http://www.amazon.co.uk/Speedball-Speedy-Carve-Stamp-Making-Kit-/dp/B000BYXF4S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351177603&sr=8-1

And no, the female symbol wasn't intentional, but now you mention it, I like it!!
