I'm in!

Wowee! I'm very pleased indeed to be included in the new autumn edition of Artful Blogging. It is always an honour to be included in a Stampington publication and although I haven't actually received my copy yet I just know that it will be a fab magazine jam-packed full of inspiring blogs and wonderful artists. Ooh I just can't wait to get my copy!

Many thanks for all your lovely comments recently and very sorry if I haven't got back to you yet. Life has been hectic towards the end of term and time is always so short. I'll do my best! But let me know what you think ... do you hope for a reply / return visit when you leave a comment on a blog? Really, I'm interested. Because if I could I would spend half of my day making art and the other half blog-hopping but unfortunately life isn't like that! I spend a lot of time feeling guilty about all of this so I'd be interested in your opinion.

Now a personal message to Rosie B who has been trying to contact me. Rosie I'm sorry but I haven't been able to answer your question as your blogger profile has not been made public so I have no way at all of getting back to you. In answer to your question, no, the DVD does not have subtitles but if you want to contact the publishers - Traplet  - they may be able to help you more.

Byeee for now.

  5. Kate....your comments re feeling guilty about not getting back to people who comment rang bells for me having just had a spell of nearly 3 weeks when my time has been so short that I have not only blogged but not left a comment anywhere either! I do try and visit the blogs of those who comment on my blog but realistically that just doesn't happen! Real life gets in the way and has to come first for most of us so I think the answer is not to stress over it!!

  7. Congratulations! About the comments; I think it is nice if people respond with a *return visit*, but on the other hand, I know that life often gets in the way, and that each day only has 24 hours! So don't have a bad conscience! Valerie

  12. Woohoo I'm sooooo happy for you!
Hope you get your copy soon.xx

I like to think most people understand how busy life gets and leaving comments isn't always possible.. so if I don't get comments back I understand and just hope that, that person isn't getting stressed. It's a funny old game!!

Hope you get lots of painty time this hols..xx

  13. Congrats on being in "Blogger" it is one of my favorite magazines, I'll look for your article. I love it when people leave comments but I don't expect them. Although I do have a few people who leave comments daily and I've come to look forward to that-I miss them when for what ever reason they don't leave one. But blogging is something I do for me the comments are a nice extra but not a given.

  16. Hi, Kate! So happy to hear your good news! I've ordered the RSVP package for Artful Blogging, and look forward to receiving this issue!

I can relate to the hectic-ness you describe here. I currently work two jobs and also juggle family life with art. In the summer, I'd hoped I'd be able to spend more time on my blog, but it hasn't happened that way so far! I am like you in that I try to get back to all of my followers and commenters as much as possible, but not as often as I want to!

  17. Congratulations, Kate!!! I'm doing a little happy dance for you. We, your devoted followers, know that there's always something wonderful here. Whoo-Hoo!!
As for comments . . . . Oh My! You've touched a nerve (and a raw one at that). I haven't been keeping up as much as I'd like in Blogland - I've been busy trying to make art and have been learning my new sewing machine. If you're looking for someone who empathizes (and has a case of the guilts) - I've got my hand raised high in the air. All you can do is remember that family and life come first. Just do the best you can. We all understand! Hugs, Terri xoxo

  20. Oh Kate, let me just tell you from one "always feelin' guilty" person to another, life is entirely way too short for you to be feeling guilty about getting back to every single blog comment. First of all, as your artwork grows and your fan base (607 followers) it will obviously get harder for you to get back to everyone. You absolutely shouldn't have any guilt associated with your amazing artwork. Let that guilt fall off of your shoulders and down to the floor. My Dad always tells me that I should have been Catholic with all the guilt I haul around (ha-ha). At any rate, in my opinion we are extremely lucky to even get to view your artwork at all much less getting to converse with you ever. I too am not always able to get back to each any every comment and I don't have anywhere near the amount of followers you do. Since getting involved with this Mixed Media blogging community there is one thing that I have found to be true for just about everyone I come across, they are all sweet, kind and understanding people.
I honestly haven't spoken with but one or two at the most "not so nice" of people on-line within this community. We understand, we get you. As for being in the newest issue of "Artful Blogging", congrats. I saw that you were going to be in it and that's really the only reason I pre-ordered it. You deserve all the attention and accolades you are getting, believe me. So, as usual my message to you is that you rock and so does your beautiful artwork. Maybe one of these days I'll come up with something different to say to you? Hang in there and Hugs to you.

  21. Congrats on being in the magazine! Comments- I do try and visit anyone who has commented on my site, but I do not get as many comments as you do so it doesn't take me very long!!!Life gets in the way though and blogger keeps playing me up so I have been a bit lax the last few months.Don't feel bad about it, your blog inspires 100's of people and if you spent all your time replying to comments when would you get your wonderful art done that we all drool over!!?

  22. I think everybody who blogs loves to receive comments and hopes for appreciation of the work they show, but I am absolutely not expecting, that I always get an answer back...
I myself just recently discovered your blog and I am a fond reader already. Congrats to your publication!

  23. Hi Kate congratulations, have never bought that mag before but will do now. As for comments, I think we all feel a little guilty as we can't always reply went we wish to as life gets in the way and it's easy to forget, just like me and you've jogged my meomory, I mean't to leave a comment on a friends blog days ago.
    hugs Joy xx

  24. WHOOOOOOO!!!!! well done you on getting published in this mag....well deserved too!!!

Kate....I love to pop by to see what lovely art you have been creating & I like to leave a comment about it too! But I never expect anyone to feel that they have to come to my blog in return. So when they do its a great delight. Life is hard enough without feeling the pressure of this....there are only so many hours in the day aren't there? Life must come first I think so please don't feel bad at all my lovely, HUGS xxx

  27. I try to keep in touch with my blog groupies as I call them. I know I like comments so I try as much as possible to leave comments when I read a blog. It does not always have to be long winded, but I guess we all enjoy the feeling of being seen and heard. Don't fret over it though, we all have a life in the real world, and there is no law that states that you HAVE to comment or visit back. A day only has 24 hours...

  28. Thank yo for your loveley comment at my blog. The tekst at the page is about Corrydora's (that's how the little bottem fish are called) It's written in Dutch, so no wonder that you can't understand a word of it ;-)
The picture of the fishes is taken at my own aquarium.

    Thankx for visiting!

    xx Tessa
