Olivia by Daniel Torrente for Stampotique
Crown by Jo Capper Sandon for Stampotique

I haven't done a page in my A5 Moleskine for ages, months even .... I fell out of love with it a while ago ... I'm not sure why.  Recently I have been working either much bigger or much smaller. So I decided to revisit it this week and start a new page and it's amazing how quickly you can back into things. Before long I was painting, spraying and splatting as usual :-)

I came across the quote in a great little book I was introduced to by Dyan, called The Little Book of F**k It' - a book with a flippant title but with really meaningful contents. This book is a great leveller - really - you should check it out. I got mine at AFTH but it is also available here. I really like this quote because I am one of life's worriers and every now and then I just need someone to say to me 'Oh, get over yourself'! and remind me that I am just a very small person on a very big planet. My Mum had a great saying that she used to quote to my sisters and I if we were getting a little self-centred, or whining too much - 'You're not the only man on the island' she used to say!

I chose to use the stamp 'Olivia' by Daniel Torrente for Stampotique because she looks a little worried doesn't she?

Today I received this blog award off the lovely Anne:

Apparently we are supposed to share some unusual facts about ourselves but I have done this a few times before and I really have nothing more unusual to reveal, I am too normal, and actually there is no way I could top what Anne had to say! Go and have a look here: Flutterby Crafter blog!!! Thanks Anne x

Well, it's half term here YIPPEE! But you know what that means? It means I have to battle with two children all week for who has supremacy over the computer. Seriously I am no match for Club Penguin, and this is the first time I have been able to get on the PC all day. I need an ipad I need an ipad I need an ipad I need an ipad i need an ipad :-)

Byeeeeeeee for now

  3. Love it.

Thinking about worry, I laugh today because last week the cable went out and I was furious at my DH who is working in another state. We are paying for two houses and I am mad about the cable. Seriously. In the end, I remembered how much my oldest loved videos as a child and broke out the VCR and DVD player and showed my youngest the treasure trove of videos we have. He is enthralled and will stay very busy until the three day holiday is over.

Enjoy your two week break. We get spring break in a few weeks and then have a long stretch before summer.

    Hope you get the ipad.

  5. I know you get lots of awards, but YOU DESERVE THEM, so get over yourself....see I've read your blog. Seriously a fantastic page again, such a mixture of wonderful colours, blended so well. Oh you do inspire me. Do all children spend their time on Club Penquin, so do my granddchildren. I asked for an Ipad for Christmas, but managed to get a Macbook. xx

  9. I'm a worrier too so thanks to your mum for the saying! Don't you find the less you worry about crafting the better it turns out. I've realised that over the last 6 months. Off to look at that book now - think I need it!

    PS Love the page!!

  11. A gorgeous page - and a very wise quote (that I ought to take heed of myself!)I love your wonderful use of colour. Thanks too, Kathryn, for the lovely comment on my brother's birthday card - another digital creation, since you asked. Today I made myself get the inks and paints out and I'm glad I did. Enjoy your half term :-)

  13. Love the colors you used on this journal page Kate. So pretty, I love how it doesn't take much for you to turn a blank page into a stunning piece of artwork. BTW, I'm a fellow worrier myself. When I was younger, I never worried about anything, it all rolled off of me. In fact, everyone thought I was irresponsible because I just didn't get worked up about most things. Now, it's like I went from one extreme to the other after I passed 35. Now I fret, worry and analyze everything. Sometimes I can't even make a decision. At any rate, I should puick up this book you're talking about. Thanks for visiting my blog recently and for your kind comments. I'm always so flattered when you come by because I respect your artistic style so much. Sorry winter is dragging on there. Here in Arizona we were having amazing weather every day like we usually do, spring like days in the low to mid 70's and cool nights in the 50's. But now for a few days it's gotten windy, rainy (which we need because we never get it) and a bit cold for us. I'm looking forward to warmer days of using the pool, I'm a summer girl definitely.

  18. love your Mum's comment.
love that you say Mum! :)

i think most of the things we worry about don't come to pass, and if they do, worry did not help them not too...and worrying just makes us feel like crap!!

    love your journal page...always do!!
