A few more journal pages ...

Well, life has been busy lately, you know, just with life in general, but I did spend the day at Art from the Heart last Sunday playing with the new Dylusions paint colours :-))  Above is a page I completed in my mini journal with the *new* mustard and rose paints. And very nice they are too! The lovely altered, gothic little boy was a freebie download from Land of Nod Studios. I have added a link under the photo - go and check it out!

This next page in my mini journal was an experiment. Dyan has added a white and black primer to the Dylusions collection and I wanted to know what would happen if I used black primer, and this is the result, a much darker gothic look. Of course I kept wanting to lighten it! :

Obviously this page isn't finished yet but it was a learning process. I found out along the way, that primer doesn't really splat. Look at the white marks on the page - that's what happens when you try and splat primer! I quite like it - it's a different effect. Now I just need to finish the page.

Here's a background I did a while ago in my large A4 journal using images by Nancy Baumiller:

I have since finished this page with lots of journaling but, hey, it's private!

And finally, here are the new Dylusions colours available here.  Go and check it out, you want them, you need them, you know you do :-))

Guess who is at Art from the Heart tomorrow? Yup, that's right, it's Tim Holtz. And guess who has to go to work instead? Yup, that'll be me. I know that as a school teacher I get zillions of holidays, but I can't just have a day of when I want one! (Waddya mean, throw a sickie?! Er.....can't deny I didn't think about that). Anyway, I'm going to pop through after work on the pretence of making cups of tea haha!

If you're going to be at Tim's last workshop tomorrow I will be your tea girl. I can bring provisions. What do you want? Custard creams? Rich Tea? Jaffa Cakes?

Before I go I just wanted to say thanks for visiting and thanks for all your wonderful comments - I do read and appreciate each and every one. I haven't had time to visit blogs recently - I have a lot of different deadlines to meet and I have to stop myself spending hours on the computer................ I'll be round to visit y'all soon. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  10. LOL. I would so want to take a sick day too from school, but duty calls. Today I am glancing at all your fun stuff while the kids are taking a practice test. Better not get stuck on here too long. Got to do the walk about to make sure they're on task.

I have been keeping up with remembering what I did everyday. I just don't have a page to put it on, yet. Sad, I know. It will happen eventually.

    Have fun serving tea.

  14. LOL - and are you going to share with us why we shouldn't listen to Baton Rouge by Garth Brooks whilst driving???

Gorgeous pages as usual Kate and you've only reinforced that I NEED the new dylusion paints but unfortunately they are on the back shelf until next month due to MOT and car tax. (bummer).

Go on be a devil - throw a sickie tomorrow - You know you want to. Have a great time anyway.
