December seems to be the month for making tags! I was looking at Dina Wakley's blog the other day and saw that she had been doing some fabulously painty inky things with tags. I wanted to have a go too:-)
Of course, I asked Dina's permission because I think it is VERY important that you acknowledge your sources if you 'borrow' an idea.
Here are my tags all in a row:
And this is how they look when they are all bound together:
I sent this little book of tags to my Mum as a gift because she has been snowed in all week and hasn't been able to get out, however I overlooked one little thing........ she hasn't had any post all week because the postie can't get there because of all the snow!
NEWS: If you would like to have a go at making some inky tags with me then I'll be doing something similar to this at Art From the Heart on 18th December from 10 - 11 am. Have a look here for all the details. Don't miss it! COME AND GET INKY WITH ME!!
Now, onto a few more tags. Dyan at AFTH has set a fun little challenge for December - have a look here. This is day 3, and ...er... I think day 5. I missed a day somewhere.

I'm not sure if the 'David' stamp really works behind the next bird image but I HAD to use it because
1)It is new and therefore must be used whether it is suitable or not
and
2) One of the rules of the challenge is that you can't spend more than 15 minutes so you haven't got time to change or correct anything.

My 8 year old son decided to have a go too, there's nothing he likes more than blue inky fingers! Here's his tag (Check it out! He cut that bird out by himself!)

Wow those tags are just fabulous Kate, am definitely going to check out Dinas' blog. I wish I could join in with the challenge, but am snowed under at the mo, still trying to catch up with making Christmas preses....but would love to have a go at these techniques with the paint.

ReplyDeleteFantastic tags, love the colours of the top ones and the one your son did is great. For Xmas I am getting both collections of Dylusions spray paints and the normal paints...I just wish I lived close enough to come to the workshops to learn how to use them properly and have some messy fun!!

ReplyDeleteYour mother will love her tags once she gets them, thats kind of funny. Enjoy your fire.
ReplyDeleteThanks for comment on my clown atc. I sometimes use charcoal but in this instance I think it was a neocolor II crayon (paynes grey).
ReplyDeleteThese are truly awesome tags.
ReplyDeleteWow your tags are inspirational! Haven't managed to achieve much this week but you make me think about getting my paints out when I see stuff like this .... even though there is a long list of other stuff I really SHOULD be doing!
ReplyDeleteI want some too! Might have to mug your Mum next time I see her, or maybe just the postie! I am impressed that you have found time to do all this tag making - with the snow, everything seems to take so much longer that I haven't had time to create during the day, and in the evening it is too cold to think about sitting and doing upstairs!
ReplyDeleteThese tags look so awesome! I sure wish we lived closer..I would definitely come and get inked with you!!
ReplyDeleteI love those tags you've made, they are so awesome. I might have to try that myself if I can borrow from you? They are so artsy and quirky and I just adore them. I love how you didn't cut the dangling threads off either. The colors you chose also are just perfect.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, I love everything you do.
