New paints, new inks, new journal pages

Well, I had a lot of fun at the Papercraft Show on Saturday and by the end of the day my hands were more colourful than they have ever been before! That's the sign of a good day :-) It was great to see some bloggy friends at the show - thanks for popping over to say 'hello'.

Dyan at Art From the Heart has released a new range of paints WOOP WOOP! Just look at these babies in all their gorgeous brightness and lusciousness! :

I am really picky about paints. All acrylic paints are not the same. NO NO NO NO! These ones are particularly lovely for art journaling because they have a matte finish (perfect for writing on), the colours are beautiful, rich, bright and vibrant - just how I like it!, and most importantly they are semi-translucent. The transparency of paint is very important if you want to create layers in your backgrounds. Have you ever noticed that some paints get very 'muddy' when you try and layer them? Well, these won't - they layer up a dream :-)

Can ya tell I'm in love?!

And look at this. They come in cute round pots, a bit like a shoe polish tin, and have a wide lid so you do things like this:

As if the new paints weren't enough to get me drooling, the Spray Inks (now renamed Dylusions) also come with added mica for lots of bling:

Here's a really quickie journal page I completed at the papercraft show on Saturday because I was really keen to try out the new paints .......

And another one, ready for some journaling..............

It feels like winter has arrived here in the north of England. It's cooler all of a sudden, and wet, and grey. Hmmmmm. It could soon be time to ditch the sandals and dig out the boots......

Byeeeeeeee for now

  17. Sorry I haven't been by in awhile. I'm so glad I stopped by now to see all your awesome new products by "Art From The Heart". BTW, thanks a lot. Now I want new paints and Spray Inks. I'm already over my head in art products that I want after the recent CHA show. But all kidding aside, thank you for showing me where to get some great matte finish acrylics. Your new pages are, as usual, bright, fun, inspiring and eye catching.

  18. I just gush over your pages everytime. Pretty pretty pretty (did I say pretty already?).
As for paints I prefer opaque colors myself, so I can cover up parts if I want to and it is also wonderful if you like to use lighter colors on top of dark ones. If I want translucent I just add some water and voilà ;-)
