Ta-Da!

Well, here is my August page. I'm flying in by the seat of my pants as usual, although technically I am not late - it's still the 1st of August (JUST!). This page is very much a work in progress as I will be off for two weeks to get some much needed sunshine during the month of August, so there are 14 days which aren't even stuck down on the page. I don't think I will want to carry my large A4 Moleskine with me so I'll just take the squares, fill them in and then stick them down when I get back home.

The images  I chose this month came from the lovely Marsha of Tumblefish Studios. I chose these as they seem to fit my holiday mood perfectly :-)  I'm not sure that I will look quite as good as this curvyluscious babe when I am in my swimsuit though!!

Marsha's images will be available here: http://www.tumblefishstudio.etsy.com/

Here is the page as a work in progress. I used acrylic paints, pastels, stencils, and my fave spray inks, as well as a few bottle lids and rubber stamps to create this background. It always amazes me how different the page looks by the end of the month when it is all filled in.

Now, K(banterings of a basketcase) quite rightly pointed out that newbies to my blog have no idea what this challenge is all about. Sorreeeeeeee, an oversight on my part, so here goes .....

Back in December I was inspired by Jill to keep an art calendar - pages in my regular art journal, but with a small square for each day where I could write the happenings of daily life. I became hooked, so in January I challenged fellow bloggers to join me for a whole year - the 2010 365 calendar challenge. Many people decided to join but over the course of time some have left ..... but also some have joined along the way :-))
It is never to late to join in the fun, you don't have to wait till January. Start now!! Here is the original post, and here is the flickr group where you can see many different calendars in one place. But be warned, it is addictive and once you start you may not be able to stop! All you have to do is fill in your page each month and then leave a blog comment here so that everyone in the challenge can hop around to see each other's pages :-)  You could also post it to Flickr if you wish.

To answer another question I have received .... You can do this in any size journal you like, but I do a double page spread in an A4 Moleskine and my squares measure 1 1/2".

Ok, now I am off on a blog hop to see the other calendars...byee for now

I will post them on Flickr when I get time. I won't look as good as your bathing belle in my cozzy either - wish those with long legs were fashionable to hide my wobbly thighs LOL
