I have been playing away :-) In someone else's journal I mean!! Just starting this page was actually quite scary - there is a tremendous fear of making a mess in someone else's journal, however I am pleased to say that just for once I managed not to squidge ink on the previous pages! I make no apologies for using the photo of the dismembered hands again (n.b. these are actually vintage rubber glove moulds) because playing with these is just too much fun.
I found this fab quote to use:
And this is what I journaled on the page:
And do you know what? I mean it! A little dust never killed anyone, and as my Mum says .... only boring people have clean homes. Thanks Mum :-)
Gorgeous colours, lovely pages and a FAB sentiment, lol. I'm afraid it does get worse, though - I can prove that to you. BUT we really ought to do more of what we like to do rather than lose our lives in redoing things over and over again...
ReplyDeleteFab pages love the hands, and glad to know that dust is good too (plenty of it in my house !!).
ReplyDeleteWow, this is fantastic, I just love it. The sentiment is very true as well. See you Friday.
ReplyDeleteFab pages, love the sentiment, wish it was my journal you are working in.
ReplyDeletePat xx
Ha! I love this! I was actually beating myself up yesterday for being the worst housekeeper in the world this year. I feel better now. I thank you, and your Mum.♥ Kathy
ReplyDeleteOh you are so right Kathryn, I agree with every word....lol Your pages are again fabulous, love those gloves, brilliant. Annette x
ReplyDeleteYAY for your mum Kate - I'm all for letting dust settle and doing something else (not sure rest of the family would agree though LOL) . Great pages as usual Love those moulds.
ReplyDeleteI like your Mum :) What a fab page.
ReplyDeleteFabulous pages Kathryn :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I popped by again (had intended to look for the Flickr link) I had intended to clean and tidy my kitchen today but haven't had time 'cos I've been playing and this has just reminded me it's not important. Having said that I've had to migrate to working on the kitchen worktop 'cos there's so much mess on my craft desk LOL
Anne xx
I don't know your Mum, but I LOVE HER. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Fabulous page!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more!
ReplyDeleteWell I'm rather virtuous at the moment....cleaning my house as I pack up ready for our move ... hehehe, I too would much rather play... and oh how I would love that page to be in MY journal...someone is going to be stroking and admiring THAT page forever!
ReplyDeletethis is wonderful, kate
ReplyDeletelove those glove molds!! they make great images for journal pages!! beautiful as usual!!
ReplyDeleteLove your journal page and the text is fab and so is your journaling and I agree about the cleaning and it's boring too LOL. Tracy x
ReplyDeleteGreat journaling and I love the idea that the dirt doesn't get any worse after 4 years - I must see if that's true ;-)
ReplyDeleteFabulous pages Kate, gorgeous colours, and your Mum is right my Mum say's only dust if you must! lol
ReplyDeleteI always work in round robin altered books with some trepidation lest I mess them up.
ReplyDeleteLove the sentiment in your page.
Kate
Loving the page and the sentiments :)
ReplyDeleteOh Kate how lucky to have a mum who thinks like that. I only dust when I know my mum is visiting as I know she inspects everywhere.
ReplyDelete:)
I concur with mum as well. I love the pages as well. Lucky person getting those pages. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteLove your Mum - think I should embroider her words on a banner and hang it over my front door.
ReplyDeleteGreat pages! I know what you mean about working in someone else's journal - sure does raise the heart rate a bit! Always worried about screwing something up that can't be fixed, but your pages are superb!!!
ReplyDeleteRe: Housework I always tell my family that my higher purpose in life is NOT to vacuum and swipe up crumbs left on the counter!!! Hear, Hear!!! Hugs, Terri xoxo
Great pages and wonderful colours! Is that quote from Quentin Crisp? If not, I'm sure he said something similar!
ReplyDeleteDiane x
Lovely pages with a wonderful message. I have to remember that one about the boring people. I always use "I cannot be creative and tidy at the same time".
ReplyDeleteI love the quote that says "housework never killed anybody - but why take the chance?". Journalling is far more important anyway, as long as you can still breathe for the dust! Wonderful pages to make me smile ...
ReplyDeleteLove this, echoes my own thoughts exactly!
ReplyDeleteHow scary to be creating in someone else's journal - but how special for them to receive these fabulous pages!

Great pages Kate. I can imagine it being scarey working away! Lovely sentiment :D one to remember.xx
