Art is Art....

Ooh I had a lot of fun with this page! It's got so many layers because I couldn't get the background right so I had to keep adding a bit more and a bit more.....! I will NOT tear a page out even though it's very tempting sometimes.

The image is another stamp from Stampotique, I love the manic grin on this one. I coloured her with distress inks:

Here's some of the detail:

And here I demonstrate my bolshy side LOL! But this is how I feel about my art. Essentially it is for me. If other people like it then that's fantastic, a bonus, but I do it to keep me sane, because I feel a NEED to do it, because it makes me happy :-)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone! Byeeeeeee

  6. Art is art - I don't have to explain this to anybody... this should be printed on a Tshirt and worn at all times! Brilliant! Right on, and all that stuff.

  16. Love the colors of this piece, some of my favorite pages end up being those ones I was first going to throw away because I didn't like them. But I like you never throw out a page.

  17. I think this is 'layeringly lovely' Kate! You can see the amount of work that has gone into it...oh I love it...it makes me want to go away right now and do a page! And BTW, I am going to blame you when the credit card bill comes after my shopping spree...I am going to be buying some of those Stampotique gals (and maybe a guy!) when I next go to Harrogate!

  22. I think it is perfect and I just love it when things are not going just right and we end up layering over layers and end up with something we're pleased with and the thickness of the page. That's when you know you've got something pleasing to you.
