Ooh I had a lot of fun with this page! It's got so many layers because I couldn't get the background right so I had to keep adding a bit more and a bit more.....! I will NOT tear a page out even though it's very tempting sometimes.
The image is another stamp from Stampotique, I love the manic grin on this one. I coloured her with distress inks:
Here's some of the detail:
And here I demonstrate my bolshy side LOL! But this is how I feel about my art. Essentially it is for me. If other people like it then that's fantastic, a bonus, but I do it to keep me sane, because I feel a NEED to do it, because it makes me happy :-)
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone! Byeeeeeee
yummy yummy yummy
ReplyDeleteI kive this page ad your sentiments Kate. The backgroundturned out amazing in the end lol!

ReplyDeletePlus we share the exact same vision of art.
The colors are gorgeous, the meaning too.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this one Kate - your pages are so inspiring but I have artists block at the moment - think it must have been the break away that's done it...I'm sure it will return soon...xoxo
ReplyDeleteAmazing, love the background and what you've done with the stamp. I agree with you, your art is for you. xx
ReplyDeleteArt is art - I don't have to explain this to anybody... this should be printed on a Tshirt and worn at all times! Brilliant! Right on, and all that stuff.
ReplyDeleteI love your page today....and thank you for the "not explaining yourself to anyone"...we should get tshirts!! I really needed this today!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! And love the sentiment of it too! I think we all need that reminder every now and then!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree!!! Hmmm... now why do I keep explaining myself to everyone? LOL Great page!!! (Now I'm off to do the millionth layer on my latest journal page!) :)

Great statement Kate, and very true! Love the t shirt idea :) How cool would that be?! Loving the colours and image on this page :)
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of this piece, some of my favorite pages end up being those ones I was first going to throw away because I didn't like them. But I like you never throw out a page.
ReplyDeleteI think this is 'layeringly lovely' Kate! You can see the amount of work that has gone into it...oh I love it...it makes me want to go away right now and do a page! And BTW, I am going to blame you when the credit card bill comes after my shopping spree...I am going to be buying some of those Stampotique gals (and maybe a guy!) when I next go to Harrogate!

ReplyDeleteI l o v e everything about this page!
ReplyDeleteI think it is perfect and I just love it when things are not going just right and we end up layering over layers and end up with something we're pleased with and the thickness of the page. That's when you know you've got something pleasing to you.
ReplyDeleteDear Queen of Messing About, what a fun blog you have- I have enjoyed my visit and will be sure to come back often.
