There's something fishy going on around here......

Hee hee hee. I love playing with images like this :-)))) This is a 3 1/2" by 5" which is a size I haven't done before but it does mean I am sticking to one of my new year's resolutions which I journaled about - to do my art on a bigger scale (ie: bigger than an ATC!)
It came about because an on-line buddy suggested a trade with a fish in it somewhere. I had a rummage through my image collection and found this fishy beauty on a sheet by Paperstreet on Etsy. But I also found this hoot of an image from Lisa's altered arts, with the four straight faced boys on. I chopped their heads off of course and added them at a jaunty angle and gave them a few fishy hats. I added the images to a collaged, painted, splatted, stamped background and then finished off with a little stitching. (It's a very long time since I used my sewing machine to actually sew fabric!) Anyway, I hope my on-line buddy likes it. I enjoyed doing it- it took me out of my comfort zone for a while.
We've had a bank holiday in the UK today to celebrate May Day and as usual for a bank holiday in England, it was cold, grey and wet. Hmmmm, spent the afternoon in the 10 pin bowling alley although my husband and I had to 'give' all of our goes to our children. Next time I'll take a flask!! Ha ha. Well, if it's a bank holiday today, you know what that means? It means I've got Sunday night blues on a Monday.................
Bye for now

  1. I love it beyond words! It is perfect! You are so clever and fun. You know I love fish and I love quirky and fun and you did it all! And the sewing detail just puts it over the top in scrumptious!

  2. Just saw this on Flickr. This is soooo imaginative. Those hats are great !! Love all the details to this one. Happy trade partner she will be.
Sounds like you had a riot of a time at the lanes. You should do a bowling themed ATC.
Thanks for the comment on my Poe.

  3. neat!!! really neat!!! :-)

  4. I love it soooooooooo much Kate! Welcome to the CS team too :).

  5. what a wonderful job you did with this!

  6. This is GENIUS! And I wish I had thought f it first. Clever hats that aren't merely cones or crowns. Now THAT's a challenge!... coming up with the next clever trend (something I hope to do some day).
