I do like a bit of plastic to paint on, and the new Black Opaque by Grafix is fabulous! You can throw all sorts of layers and mediums at this stuff and it takes it all.
I used it to make a cover for my Joggles disc-bound journal, and the video is here for you to watch the process :-)
