Classes!

Now that the Christmas visitors have gone their own way, the husband has gone back to work and the kids have gone back to school, I can start thinking about the arty year ahead!  I've already got quite a few classes organised, some definite, and others 'just pencilled in' so keep an eye out on my teaching page here for future news.

Saturday 25th January
Art from the Heart (Harrogate UK)

Just like journaling …but on a tiny scale! Mini journaling can be done in any small notebook or sketchbook, but due to its compact size it is quick, accessible and a lot of fun! It’s a great place to use up odds and ends of collage images, and a great place for all of your smaller stamps. We’ll be painting funky, colourful backgrounds and then adding tiny images and stamps to create glorious pages in miniature. Great for journaling on-the-go, or when real life gets in the way and you just haven’t got the time for a larger page….
Required: Small Moleskine, mini notebook or sketchbook.

Lunchbag Concertina Journal
Saturday 1st Feb
Make your own concertina style journal from scratch using an every day lunch bag! We’ll fill the interior with a variety of pages, with added tags and pockets, and then create the front and back covers using recycled corrugated card. We’ll create and decorate the covers with our very own hand-painted deli paper alongside vintage text, scraps of fabric and some scrapbook papers, all artily stitched together!
I was inspired by the lovely work of Roben-Marie to make this journal.

Creative Collage
Wednesday 19th March

Collage is a firm favourite with art journalers, but creating your very own collage images adds a unique and personal touch. Kate will provide you with templates as well as a variety of vintage photos, and then show you how to build your own quirky images for use on your art journal pages. Using scans of your own journal backgrounds makes the collage images ever more personal so bring some scans along if you’ve got them. (But don’t worry if not – Kate will provide you with some!)

Kate frequently creates collaged pages in her art journals and has some great tips to share for achieving cohesion and balance on the page, alongside a vibrant, colourful background.
Required: Art journal or sketchbook

More classes to follow at 3-D Jean (Middlesbrough,UK), The Stamp Attic (Oxford, UK) and maybe more .... Would love to see you at one of my classes ... or maybe on-line ...
