Squeezed Orange ink spray by Dylusions

Stencils by Dylusions
I'm very pleased to say that this large canvas (14 x 11") is currently on display at CHA as part of the Ranger Designer Challenge Woop Woop!! Dyan, designer of all things Dylusional, is hosting the challenge this time and I was one of the 15 designers asked to produce something for the CHA display :-))))) It is of course a HUGE honour to have art on display at the Ranger booth at CHA, so a massive thank you to Dyan for asking me.
This challenge stretched me a bit I must admit! We were all given just ONE colour spray, along with a white and black spray, and as a great lover of bright colour I found it quite hard to stick to the rules! I really worked my background to get as much depth as I could:
You are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE the new white Dylusions spray (check out the new releases here) because one of the things you can do with this is mix with any of the other shades to create pastel shades. Cool!
See the different shades of Squeezed Orange in the bunting? I mixed some Orange with White in a mini spritzer bottle. Just think of the possibilities! How many shades of Dylusions could you create?!
I made the little houses by spraying manilla tags with different shades of the orange and then I stitched them to the canvas. My poor little sewing machine coped admirably ... I wondered if it could sew all the way through a canvas board and it can!! (My sewing machine repair man despairs at me LOL!)
If you are on facebook you can see all 15 of the designer canvases here, but if not I'm sure they will be on the Ranger Ink blog in time. After that, some of them will appear in Somerset Studio magazine (Stampington), and then will be on display in the education room at the Ranger Ink HQ!
Don't forget, 21 Secrets Art Journal Playground is now available for registration. Click *here* for more details .....
Byeeee for now ......
Absolutely stunning Kate!! You've converted me to orange ;-) x
ReplyDeleteKate, I saw this on FB yesterday, along with Kaz's - it is just wonderful, and I don't use much orange!! You must have had so much fun.

ReplyDeleteYou're so talented Kate :) I look forward to your 21 secrets workshop! Yipee!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow...you did a great job with this. The depth and limit of color just makes it that much more beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love Dyan's challenge, I'm totally inspired to have a go myself, maybe I'd have a go at just the green. Its a tough one to choose which one. Your canvas board is amazing, I'd love to see it in the flesh, will you be getting it back? I hope so, maybe you'll bring it to AFTH one time. I bet those layers look awesome with the naked eye, and the liquid paerls too. Have a super Sunday, see ya later. Michelle xx
