Ink sprays by Dylusions
Stamps: Doodle parts by Dylusions, text by Ma Vinci
Stencils: Chequered dots, number jumble, letter jumble, dotted flowers by Dylusions, Cursive alphabet by Balzer Designs
Well, I finally got round to finishing my journal page. Not sure where time goes these days.... If you remember from my previous post it started life like this:
I love the backgrounds you can create with the new Dylusions inks - I think they are even brighter than before if that's possible! I sprayed inks, then sprayed water through stencils, then sprayed inks through stencils, then spread gesso through another stencil, gradually building up the layers. LOVE layers :-)
I added some scribbly doodles around the circles, a bit of oil pastel, and then spread some hot pink paint through another stencil (this time by Balzer Designs).
The photo is one of my own - you may recognise it, I've used it quite a bit before. It is a photo of some vintage rubber glove moulds - no real body parts were involved!!
I love the new solid black stamps by Dylusions - they really make the other colours pop. I double-stamped the leaves in red then black Archival ink:
And why has it taken me so long to discover Liquid Pearls??! I am sure the rest of the world has been using these like forever. I think they make a wonderful addition to a mixed media page. You can make dots with them, scribble with them, hey, you can even write with them! Love them. I NEED more!
Well, we have had some wonderful spring weather here in the UK over the last few days. The frogs in my garden pond have been very bus(lots of baby frogs on the way soon methinks!), the clocks spring forward one hour this evening (don't forget!), and Mr Crane has even cut the lawn!! Make the most of the spring sunshine everyone and have a great weekend.
This is gret work Kate and I love it. beautiful combination, materials and colors. Love the black stamped leaves. beautiful.
ReplyDeletehave a nice Sunday and warm greet

Great pages Kate, love your hand !!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lively, beautiful spread! I use - exclusively - old materials simply because I'm refusing to allow myself anything new until what I have is gone...so there is another one out here who hasn't used Liquid Pearls! You make me want to buy some!
ReplyDeleteHiya Kate.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby has done the garden too. Isn't it nice to get outside?
I am selling at a craft fair in the morning (done the clock already then I don't sleep in!!)
Hope I make some money so I can pay Ben for all my goodies I bought yesterday from AFTH!!!
Can I ask you Kate, do you wet your page before adding the spray Dylusion Inks? I did a tag the other day and was dissapointed that the inks id dnot mix together they were very patchy/blotchy but on youtube Dyan sprayed her pages with water.
Your page is gorgeous. Love the red leaves, aswell as the dark black, those solid leaves are gorgeous, I have the others and I love them too.
Ha Ha the rubber glove dd make me laugh. Debbiexx
Hi Debbie. Hope the craft fair went well and you made lots of money for more craft stuff LOL!
DeleteNo, I didn't wet this page first. I sprayed on the RH side first using plenty of ink. Then I pressed the LH side over that and smoothed it with my hand which blends the inks and also means you get two inky pages. Sometimes you might need water, I think it depends on the card / paper as they all react differently. Hope that helps, Kate
Wow....love!!!! the layers! love!!!! the colours.
ReplyDeleteThis is a brilliant journal page Kate.
Dot x
Love it!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful new page Kate, love the colours. Yes those solid black stamps really bring out the colours. I have to get the other 6 inks I don't have. I just posted a page tonight you can relate to. In 20 minutes I'm going to lose an hour! arrrggg. Michelle x
