Batboy by Daniel Torrente for Stampotique
Alphabitties by Jill Penney and Daniel Torrente for Stampotique
Hearts cubed by Jo Capper-Sandon
There's a new challenge today over on the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog. This time Val has challenged us to try altering a page in a book, any book, even a journal. OOh right up my street :-))
I chose to use the kind-of-ugly-but-gorgeous Batboy. Isn't he adorable? LOL! I coloured him with prismas and oil pastels.
I altered a page in my 1911 vintage time book. It's very fragile so I have to be very careful not to overdo it on the pages. I wanted to leave some of the old writing showing through:
You can link your altered creation here, and if you do you may be in with a chance to win a $30 gift certificate for Stampotique. As its the first challenge of the month you can use any stamps at all, although it's great if you do choose to Stampotique of course!
Bye for now.
Love your page!
ReplyDeleteFab page and that book is fab....love Batboy too !!

Oh, Wow! This page is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I love Batboy xx
ReplyDeleteTrying hard to warm up for those little stampotique creatures but not there yet. I love how the background of the original book is showing trough and how you created a floor for him to stand on. Go for it Batboy... Nice work Kate, as usual!
ReplyDeleteHi Kate - LOVE your batboy page - I agree - he's beautiful! Love how you left the journal page showing through and all the textured layers. Every time I look at it I see another element or layer - yummy!
ReplyDeleteLove it, love it, love it!!! Enough said!!! x
ReplyDeleteI love when words show through on an altered page, these are some of my favorites. I like the colors you used and of course the Batboy stamp. Best of luck with the challenge.
ReplyDeleteSo appealing! You inspire me to play with my supplies instead of always having an end in sight ... thanks.
ReplyDeleteI live next to Lake Erie! I found an old railroad book at a market last summer, and I like to use pages from it, and the cards. Thank you for reminding me, as I haven't used them in quite a while. Love your batboy and your background, Kate! Kath
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your work and this post. I'm still a little scared of those Stampotique guys LOL-but may have to give in and buy some. I enjoyed your time book as I used to live about 2 hours west of Pittsburgh for 39 years until I became a "snow bird" and flew much farther south.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Deb

ReplyDeleteGreat page, great sentiment too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful page Kate. I am still working a lot with my new color wheels(that I learned from your DVD's.) I'm comfortable with using monochromatic color scheme, not yet with complementary colors or Triad.
