Head and wings by Nancy Baumiller at deviantscrap.com
Here's an ATC I made while messing about a bit more with the new Altered Originals spray inks at Art From the Heart. I'm still happily playing about with these inks to see what I can do with them. Here's how this ATC came about. Firstly I sprayed Lime and Sky Blue inks straight onto an ATC sized piece of card to get a good strong colour, then I splashed a few drops of water on to remove some of the colour. This gave me a nice, bright background to build the rest of my piece.
I chose a head image by Nancy Baumiller (looks a little like an Avatar don't ya think?!) but it needed a body, so I decided to make a few background papers to complete the rest of my ATC. This is what happens when you spray a base colour, then spray through a stencil over the top. I hand-cut the body from this piece of paper:
Now, I needed something for a border along the bottom and here's how I did it.
Take a white piece of paper and spray through a stencil like this:
When it's dry, roughly scribble an outline round some of the shapes (no need to be neat here!):
Spray a ligher coloured ink over the top:
Highlight or doodle with gel pens or touches of acrylic paint:
If you look closley at the ATC you will see a strip of this very paper along the bottom:
Have a good weekend :-)
Fab ATC.. does indeed look loke an avatar.... mine! lol!
