Boo! It's Halloween! Of course I just had to incorporate a little bit of spookiness into my latest art journal page. I decided not to go too gory, but instead add little witchy hats to these sweet vintage little girls.
This became a page to teach at my latest regular art journaling class at Art from the Heart (Harrogate UK). The page was done entirely with tools - no brushes allowed! - so we used brayers, silicone brushes and Catalyst blades. And then we added lots of doodling, scratching into wet paint, stencilling, oil pastels and anything else we felt like!
When teaching I usually start with a practice / techniques page, and so to start with we used all of these techniques but added journaling as a focal feature (predictably there was much grumbling at this point!)
And then we moved onto our main page. Here's how mine looked in its various stages:

And here are the class hard at work producing some fabulous pages! As always we had a fun, messy and very creative day :-)
