Going round in circles.

I've been thinking about creating a mandala in my journal for a while ... it seemed like a logical step for someone who is fairly obsessed with circles.

Now, I know this isn't a mandala in its truest sense, but I don't let something like that put me off. I just wanted to keep going round in circles LOL!

This is how it began ....

I painted the mandala with DecoArt fluid acrylics because these are perfect for colouring small fiddly shapes, and the colours are gorgeous. Gorgeous I tell you! And they blend so well, especially she used with the Decoart tinting base.

I literally followed the colours of the rainbow to create my mandala .... nature knows best.

I added a bit of collage as I went along, using a scan of one of my journal backgrounds:

And this is how it looks when complete in my journal:

Intricately patterned mandalas like this are really time consuming to do but oh-so-meditative. There is something incredibly soothing about going round in circles building up colour after colour.

So, if you're coming along to my next regular art journaling class at Art from the Heart, prepare to go round in circles ....

Byee for now!
