Whimsical Houses

Recently I began teaching a regular art journaling class at Art from the Heart which has been fun to say the least! We have a suggestions book where suggestions and requests can be (anonymously) scribbled down for future classes. Whimsical Houses (always popular!) came up as one of the first suggestions so here is my Whimsical house all ready for my next class at the weekend.


I used Dina's new paints which I LOVE, over black gesso. Hmmm haven't really used black gesso before but I like it, I do! 


I added a few butterflies from the Papillon set by Tim Holtz:


And the quote is simply a dictionary definition!

    great page; that quote made me smile, I think it's the use of the word 'especially' - gets you thinking about the meaning of words we blithely use everyday without thought

    Hi Kate.
    Gorgeous House Journal Page. Love the colours, quotes and adorable house stamp. I have not used any of Dina's paints yet, but others have said they are lovely. I have however used the Amsterdam paints since sing them with you last Summer.
    So sorry I cannot call at AFTH this weekend, but getting ready for my trip to Spain with Mum and Sister. Hope Angie and I can call over to one of your classes soon.
