A bit of journaling...

Paints and spray inks by Dylusions

Phew! I really do feel like I spend my whole life in a rush! I'm rushing off to work very soon but thought I would just try and squeeze in a quick blog post before I do........

So, this is a page in my large journal (12" x 8"). I created a messy, splashy background with paints and inks by Dylusions, and I used lots of white to make more pastel shades. I love the effect of spraying the inks and then letting them run down the page.
Theses gorgeous images are by Tumblefish Studios and are availble on Marsha's Etsy here. Needless to say I altered them a bit and added a few bits and bobs :-)

Ok, must dash. Gotta go and look like a professional now......just as soon as I've scrubbed the paint off my fingers LOL!

  5. You've just used one of my "famous sayings", Kate!!! Love these geisha. Marsha out did herself with them, and your page is AWEsome!!! When you scrub up, leave a little paint to remind you that your art is waiting for you at the end of the day!!! Hugs, Terri xoxo

  7. Such a lovely journal page! Every time I visit I think I'm gonna roll my sleeves up and make some colorful gorgeous backgrounds to use and I get lost somewhere between here and getting it done. But I always leave inspired nonetheless. I think you should know that I use your journal pages as a reference for inspiration all of the time. You have an "it" factor that not many artists achieve and to know you are self taught just reinforces the idea of how intuitive you are in making art - you are so naturally talented.
