I've had such a fun afternoon playing with paints and pastels on old book pages. I have been taking an on-line class with Mindy Lacefield, which is fabulous and is really pushing me to try different ways of doing thing and I'm loving it!
These are not finished pages ... not at all .... but works-in-progress which will end up somewhere in my journal at some point ....
My hand-carved stamps made an appearance:
Definitely going to keep carving these!
I can feel a spot of sledging coming on woohoo!! Byee for now ...
Wow, your pages look fab! I've recently bought a stamp carving kit but not gotten around to having a go with it yet.

OH NO Sledging....thats a word we don't use in our house.
ReplyDeleteThree years ago at Christmas our Son (then 18), went out and ended up in hospital with a double break to his collar bone and suspected kidney and lung punctures (all due to Sledging, well coming off it anyway, he said a passer by said I saw a man fly!!)
HaHA
Anyways back to your gorgeous frosty hair and beautiful new pages, would love to see them once you have finished them they are lovely. Debbiex
Wow, Debbie - that sounds serious! I remember, as kids we always ALWAYS used to get winded sledging! Never had any broken bones tho .... x
DeleteOh wow, those pages you're working on with Mindy are fab. I hope to take one of her classes someday. Snow came down heavy here and daughter was out of school by noon..
ReplyDeleteYou've been having fun! Lots of layers and lots of colours. The paints look great with your stamps. I'm loving your new expressive style. The photo's are awesome Kate, can't believe you froze your hair! Bet you can get some great pics tomorrow morning. Michelle x
ReplyDeleteAmazing Kate I have started carving my own lino stamps and making background stamps using foam :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration is there another dvd in the offing?
Enjoy the snow x
Wow Kate I just love this new style it's so different to what we are used to seeing you do, can't wait to see them in RL. Maybe we could see them Wednesday that's if we are not all snowed in.xx
ReplyDeleteFAB new journal pages. LOve the frozen hair look. Enjoy your sledging. My sledging days are over thanks to a ceramic hip!!!!
ReplyDeleteKathyk
such cheerful and bright pages kate! You're obviously enjoying the class! Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteYay Kathryn,
ReplyDeleteI love your hand carved stamps. I can't wait to see more.
Kate!! These papers are so awesome!!! Which of her classes are you in??? I am in the Paint Your Story class...I really want to take her newest class...actually ALL of them!!
ReplyDeleteLove your pages, as usual. I guess sledging must be what we in the US call sledding? My niece lives and works in London (by way of east Tennessee) and will be excited about snow I'm guessing. Here in Tennessee we had a little snow the day after Christmas, and an ice storm earlier this week, and maybe we might get a snow with some inches to it before the end of February (although I would be very happy not to!).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pages! I love the brilliant colors. Your handcarved stamps (beautiful!) remind me that I wanted to try that as well. I should get started!
ReplyDeleteThese are seriously fun works (play) in progress!
ReplyDeleteLove your pages and the colors!!
ReplyDeletedes pages magnifiques,très lumineuse hummmm j'adore
ReplyDeleteLove your pages - wish I was doing something in my journal rather than mental health assignment I'm doing!!!
